Why are you still eating?

It’s not just about your health.

It’s also about your pocketbook.

Here’s what the experts have to say.

You’re probably too busy to eat healthy.

It may not be that much of a challenge to keep your wallet from running dry.

In the U.S., nearly half of Americans don’t have enough money to buy groceries or pay their bills.

But that’s no reason to spend your money frivolously.

Most people who are on food stamps have at least $20,000 in the bank, according to the U,S.

Department of Agriculture.

So how can you keep your money in your pocket and your health?

1.

Save.

“A big part of the problem is we don’t do enough to make sure our money is spent wisely,” said Jessica A. Mazzucco, a professor at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.

“People are getting into the habit of spending too much money, which creates a vicious cycle where more spending means more hunger, and more spending makes it harder to get through the day.”

You can also take steps to save money.

Mitzi L. Smith, an assistant professor of nutrition at Brown University, recommends that people who have been out of work for more than six months save a small amount of money a month.

But she also suggests that people with chronic illness, such as diabetes, may want to look into investing in a budgeting tool to help them plan.

Limit what you buy.

Many grocery stores are offering discount deals on items such as meatballs and cheese.

You can save even more money by shopping at smaller stores, which are usually less expensive.

You also can check out stores that are less focused on the items you’re buying, such a Whole Foods Market, a Sam’s Club, or a Target.

3.

Use coupons.

Most retailers offer cash back programs for consumers who use coupons.

This gives them the chance to earn back their purchase when they’re shopping.

If you shop with cash, you’re also more likely to get discounts.

Some stores even offer coupons for gas, groceries, or clothing.

You’ll also want to make your own shopping list, and be sure to sign up for a savings account with a credit card or debit card.

Make your own meal plan.

“We’ve found that people are not happy to pay more for the same meal,” said Laura W. Smith-Lopez, a dietitian at the Harvard School of Public Health.

“For most people, if they can save $1 or $2 per meal, they’re more likely not to buy more.”

5.

Consider buying a second-hand grocery store.

This can save you a lot of money.

Many supermarkets have an array of second-generation produce and meat, but not so much for fruits and vegetables.

If that’s not an option, consider buying locally.

“You don’t necessarily have to be a big fan of a particular brand, but if it’s locally produced, you’ll be much more likely get a good price,” Smith-Lo’s Smith- Lopez said.

Use a discount store.

These stores offer discounts for certain items.

“It’s not about the price, it’s about the quality,” Smith Lopez said, “and they offer great service and a great selection.”

Check out stores on mobile.

The best way to save time and money is to check out online shopping, where you can find new items and coupons.

Save money.

“I have no interest in going to Walmart to pick up groceries, because Walmart will charge you more than you’re going to pay for that same amount of stuff,” Smith said.

“Instead, I use Amazon Prime and use Prime Rewards and use Paypal.

I’m a little bit obsessed with it, and I don’t want to pay extra for something that I already own.”

Shop online.

This is where you’ll find more variety.

Most of these stores also have discounts for select items.

Some also offer a shopping cart for shoppers to buy items at full price.

Get discounts at Target.

Target offers a savings card, which allows you to buy an item for less.

The card is available at Target, Wal-Mart, Best Buy, Target.com, Target Express, Kroger, Walgreens, CVS, and other retailers.

Find savings at a local store.

Some of the best savings you’ll see are at local stores that sell only a limited amount of items.

Many stores offer the best prices and best service.

But don’t discount a lot.

“At these stores, you can get a lot out of a dollar, but the prices are going to be lower,” Smith says.

“And if you’re a single mom who wants to spend a lot, it can be challenging to save a dollar or two at a store that sells a lot.”
